DIETETIC UNIT

Head of Unit:       –   Dtn. Nwaluluoke Blessing

Objective:

  • To improve the overall health of clients and thereby      the community by providing practicable information’s on Nutrition      principles, food selection, handling and preparation, nutrition and the      prevention / aetiology of several diseases.
  • To provide adequate client nutritional care for both in      and out patients.
  • Collecting and collating nutritional, dietary data /      information which will be useful as research tools, teaching aids,      reference points etc, in the future.

Services Rendered:

  1. Nutrition Education / Talk
  2. Dietary Counseling
  3. Diet Therapy
  4. Food Service:   We prepare and serve      flavoursome foods for in-patients on therapeutic diet.  We provide      the following diets:
    • Renal diet
    • Hemix
    • Calorie Controlled diets
    • Low salt diet
    • Fat/cholesterol reducing diets
    • Mechanical soft diets.
  5. Participation in round in medical wards.
