DIETETIC UNIT

Objective:
- To improve the overall health of clients and thereby the community by providing practicable information’s on Nutrition principles, food selection, handling and preparation, nutrition and the prevention / aetiology of several diseases.
- To provide adequate client nutritional care for both in and out patients.
- Collecting and collating nutritional, dietary data / information which will be useful as research tools, teaching aids, reference points etc, in the future.

- Food Service: We prepare and serve flavoursome foods for in-patients on therapeutic diet. We provide the following diets:
- Renal diet
- Hemix
- Calorie Controlled diets
- Low salt diet
- Fat/cholesterol reducing diets
- Mechanical soft diets.
- Participation in round in medical wards.
