UUTH STROKE CENTRE BEGINS SERVICE

The University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) has officially commenced operations at its newly established Stroke Centre, providing specialized care to patients.According to Mrs. Jenny C. Akpan, Head of Nursing Services, the centre is fully equipped and staffed to accept patients immediately. “Our nursing department is ready to provide comprehensive care to stroke patients,” she confirmed.Initially, eight nurses and two health attendants have been redeployed to the centre, which features a 4-bedded and 6-bedded room for male and female patients, respectively.Dr. Betta Ekeh, Consultant-in-Charge, will lead the specialized team at the stroke centre, an integral part of the hospital’s medical unit.The UUTH Stroke Centre promises to enhance patient outcomes and reduce stroke-related complications through specialized care.
