NDLEA SEEKS COLLABORATION WITH UUTH

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA has sought for collaboration with University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, (UUTH), Uyo to tackle substance-abuse in the state.

State Commander NDLEA, Mrs, Obot  Bassey made  the plea during a courtesy call on the Chief Medical Director of the hospital Prof, Emem Bassey in his office.

According to her, the number of mental cases in the state amongst male and female have gone high due to already existing ailment in them.

She requested for medical experts from the hospital who would partner with NDLEA adhoc staff and health workers to cater for the health needs of inmates at the soon-to-be inaugurated centre.

Mrs Obot Bassey used the opportunity to invite the Chief Medical Director to the upcoming inauguration of the Rehabilitation Centre situated at the state headquarters in Uyo. She further presented to the CMD an NDLEA Journal and Test kits. The CMD Prof. Emem Bassey in his response commended the team for the visit and pledged readiness of the hospital to collaborate with the Agency to address drug related issues in the state.
