CMD UNIVERSITY OF UYO TEACHING HOSPITAL (UUTH), PAYS COURTESY CALL ON NCDS

In a bid to ensure effective and reliable security in the workplace which is vital for employees and clients as well as properties/equipments, the Chief Medical Director University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Uyo Prof. EmemAbasi Bassey, paid a curtesy call in the state commandment, Nigerian Civil Defence Security Services (NCDS) CC. Abidemi Majekodunic at the NCDS state office.

Prof. Bassey who intimated on the current stealing of hospital properties and attack on lives of staff by patient relatives whose life is lost in course of treatment to the command requested for more security personnels from the NCDS and training of hospital security staff, to enhance effective security of lives and properties in the institution. In line with partnership and assistance from the command over the years and more, the CMD pledged to offer a free health screening exercise for officers in the command.

State commandant, CC. AbidemiMajekodumi in his response welcome and expressed gratitude to the CMD and management for necessity, working and co-operating together to ensure value to the chain is not a choice, as health is paramount in any nation striving towards development and care of its citizens.

He pledged the commands’ assurance to work and co-operate with University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH). CC Majekodumi also mentioned other security work handled by the NCDS to include; Peace and Conflict Resolution, Anti-vandalization activities amongst others.

The Head of Department PGC in the command Acc. E. E. Peters in his remark stressed the need for the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital to have an Observational point’ outside, alongside with increased PGCs for effective security of the hospital. Also, a letter of invitation from UWETT for the training of hospital security staff.

The CDM was accompanied by other management staff and media crew of UUTH.
