NEW MOPD, UUTH OFFICIALLY OPENED

The new Medical Out-Patient Department in the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital has been officially opened.

The department which opened with prayers of thanksgiving was inaugurated by the state Chief Judge; Justice Godwin Abraham witnessed by Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Agustine Umoh, former Chief Medical Director, Prof. Etete Peters as well as management staff of University of Uyo Teaching Hospital and patients.

Justice Abraham commended efforts of UUTH management team led by Dr. Ememabasi Bassey and made a personal donation of one million naira (N1,000,000) only, to aid in provision of medical consumable in the department.

Prof. Umoh also commended efforts of Dr. Emem Bassey for consolidating on the efforts of his predecessor, Prof. Etete Peters, come to reality; stressing that whatever is worth doing should be done well.

 

The initiator of the project and former Chief Medical Director, Prof. Etete Peters commended efforts of Dr. Emem Bassey for continuity to the service of humanity. He thanked the State Chief Judge and the Commissioner for Health for witnessing the inauguration and prayed for continuous growth of the hospital.

The new Out-Patient Department has well-equipped and furnished Consulting rooms, Pharmacy, General Revenue, Seminar room, Resident Doctors Lounge, etc.
