The Nigerian Society of Anaesthesiologist has conferred an award of recognition on the Chief Medical Director of the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Dr. EmemAbasi Bassey for his service to health care delivery.
The ceremony took place during the 27th Scientific Conference and Annual meeting of the Association held in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State with the theme “Equipping Anaesthesia Practice, the Way Forward”.
In a brief remark by the National President of the Association, Prof. Elizabeth Oboli Nwaso noted that the conference was not all about issues bothering Anaesthesia but to also recognize and appreciate distinguished collaborators and mentors for their outstanding contributions towards the development of Anaesthesia and Medicine in general. She thanked participants and invited guests for gracing the occasion.
In a good will message by the Chief Medical Director of the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Dr. EmemAbasi Bassey said he was pleased to be part of the event; he lauded the effort of the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee, Dr. Mark Edubio for a job well done.
He reiterated his commitment to the department of Anaesthesia and promised to recruit Resident Doctors the department can train.
