In the spirit of the season and to mark the 2015 end of the year activities, management and members of staff of the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital converged on the UUTH Chapel for a thanksgiving service.
On the occasion, the Chief Medical Director Professor Etete Peters thanked God for a successful year and admonished staff to strive hard in doing what is good.
In his homily entitled “Let your garment be white”, taken from Ecclesiastes chapter 9 verse 7 to 8”, Rev. A. S. J. Udoyen urged staff to live a transparent life for them to attract God’s blessings.
Among the activities held during the thanksgiving service was the presentation of awards to deserving staff for their outstanding performance in the year 2015.
On her part, the Chairman Planning Committee of the year 2015, Dr. Catherine Eyo thanked the Chie
f Medical Director and management for their support towards the success of the event, adding that the award was given on merit, She applauded the awardees for their outstanding performance and encouraged staff to be more committed to work.
On behalf of the awardees, a Consultant Paediatrician Dr. Eno Nyong expressed delight to the Chief Medical Director and the Planning Committee for choosing them as best in the discharge of their duties.

Earlier on, Novelty football matches were played at the UUTH pitch among the various departments to mark the beginning of the events which saw to the emergence of Team A made up of Finance, Administration and Works, as the overall winner, followed by Team B comprising Pharmacy, Laboratory, Dental and Radiology, while Team D made up of Doctors were third.
The event was rounded off by the presentation of trophies and cash awards to the winning team and runners up by the Chief Medical Director.
